GSI Creos Corporation and the GSI Creos Group (hereinafter: our “Group”), based on our Purpose of “As a ‘Business Producer’ seeking quality of life for the next generation, we realize the happiness of all the people,” and grounded on our Management Philosophy that is defined as “Human capital is the source for creation of corporate value,” shall promote ESG management,
and shall aim to resolve social issues and realize people’s happiness. In order to fulfill our responsibilities related to respect
for human rights in our corporate activities, our Group hereby sets forth the Human Rights Policy of
GSI Creos Group (hereinafter: the “Policy”) as follows.

  1. Principles regarding respect for human rights
    Our Group shall support the International Bill of Human Rights of the United Nations and the Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work of the International Labour Organization (ILO), and shall promote initiatives regarding respect for human rights in accordance with the Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights of the United Nations. Furthermore, we shall observe the applicable laws and ordinances of the various countries and regions in which we carry out business activities. In the case that there are any inconsistencies between the laws and regulations of a relevant country and international human rights norms, we shall pursue methods for respecting internationally recognized human rights principles while observing such laws and regulations.

     
  2. Scope of application
    The Policy shall be applied to executives and all employees, regardless of their type of employment, of our Group (including temporary workers; hereinafter: “Executives & Employees”). Furthermore, our Group shall also expect our business partners and other persons related to our business activities (hereinafter: “Stakeholders”) to support the Policy, and shall encourage them to make efforts regarding respect for human rights.

     
  3. System for promotion
    Our Group, through our Sustainability Committee, shall monitor the status of compliance with, and the implementation of, the Policy, and shall promote initiatives regarding respect for human rights. The said Committee shall be chaired by the President & CEO, and the content of decisions by the Committee shall be proposed and reported to the Board of Directors, and monitored by the Board of Directors.

     
  4. Key issues related to human rights
    Based on the recognition that the following human rights issues are important social responsibilities in the context of our business activities, our Group shall continuously carry out initiatives that are aimed at making improvements and resolving challenges in relation to such.

    • Prohibition of forced labor and child labor
    We shall never permit forced labor or child labor, and shall observe the minimum employment ages that have been set by the laws of relevant countries.

    • Elimination of discrimination and harassment
    We shall respect the human rights and diversity of individuals, and shall endeavor to eliminate all types of discrimination related to hiring and employment. We shall have no tolerance for discrimination on the basis of race, nationality, creed, religion, disability, gender, sexual orientation, age, health condition, and so on, or any acts of harassment.

    • Maintaining and improving working conditions
    In line with the applicable laws and ordinances of the relevant counties and regions, we shall appropriately manage working hours, holidays, leaves, wages, and so on, and shall endeavor to provide our Executives & Employees with appropriate treatment.

    • Ensuring occupational safety and health
    In line with the applicable laws and ordinances of the relevant counties and regions, we shall endeavor to maintain and improve work environments so that they are safe, healthy, and comfortable.

    •Respect for freedom of association and collective bargaining rights
    We shall respect freedom of association and collective bargaining rights in labor relations.

    • Protecting personal information and privacy
    We shall thoroughly protect the personal information and privacy of all people associated with our corporate activities.

    • Respect for human rights in supply chains
    Based on a recognition that complying with laws and ordinances and protecting human rights are important not only within our Group but also throughout all of our supply chains, we shall make efforts to gain understanding and spread awareness regarding the Policy among all Stakeholders involved in our supply chains, and shall thereby work hard to ensure responsible procurement.

     

  5. Human rights due diligence and remedies
    Our Group, in line with the Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, shall identify and evaluate negative effects that our business activities have on human rights, based on building systems for human rights due diligence. In the case that negative effects on human rights have become apparent, we shall carry out corrective actions and remedies based on appropriate measures, and we shall work to build effective grievance mechanisms that make it possible for appropriate remedies to be carried out.

     
  6. Education and training
    Our Group shall continuously implement appropriate education and training for all Executives & Employees of our Group so that the Policy can be understood and effectively carried out. Furthermore, we shall share the Policy with Stakeholders, and shall make ongoing efforts to gain their understanding regarding such.

     
  7. Information disclosure
    Our Group shall appropriately disclose information regarding our initiatives related to respect for human rights in accordance with the Policy through our website and so on.

     

  8. Dialogues and discussions with Stakeholders
    Our Group shall faithfully engage in dialogues and discussions with relevant external and internal Stakeholders, outside experts, and so on regarding the negative effects of our business activities on human rights.
