Guided by our corporate purpose - "As a 'Business Producer', seeking quality of life for the next generation, we realize the happiness of all the people." - the GSI Creos group upholds it management philosophy of "With Employees," "With Shareholders," "With Business Associates," "With the Market," "For the Global Environment," and "For the Company Organization" - and conducts business activities aiming for coexistence with all stakeholders.
Our Group regards addressing sustainability challenges - such as global environmental issues including climate change, respect for human rights, and fair and proper business practices toward all stakeholders including employees - as business opportunities, and has established a Sustainability Committee to promote initiatives in these areas.
The committee is chaired by the President and CEO, and is composed of the heads of the business and administrative divisions, the General Manager of Corporate Planning, the General Manager of Human Resources & General Affairs, the General Manager of Finance & Accounting, and the General Manager of the Business Strategy Office. Matters decided by the committee are reported directly to the Board of Directors by the head of the Corporate Division.
Guided by our corporate purpose - "As a 'Business Producer', seeking quality of life for the next generation, we realize the happiness of all the people." - Our Group continues to create new value as a business-creating trading company. At the same time, by promoting ESG management we are working to address social issues and ultimately bring about people's happiness.
The Sustainability Committee, taking into account the three priority measures for promoting ESG management set forth in the Mid-Term Management Plan "GSI CONNECT 2024" - (1) Proactive investment in sustainable business fields, (2) Enrich Human Resources and Promote New Ways of Working, and (3) Strengthen Highly Effective Governance Systems - identified issues relevant to our Group and analyzed them from two perspectives: "solving social issues through our business activities" and "strengthening the management foundation to address social challenges," leading to the identification of our materiality priorities.
In addition, we have compiled the initiatives to be implemented for the identified material issues, based on the current business and management environment.
To create an affluent society in harmony with the environment, our Group will contribute to addressing climate change and building a circular society through sustainable businesses focused on “Environment”, “Life & Health”, and “Energy” sectors.
To enrich human resources and promote new ways of working, we will enhance our education programs, systematically cultivate the global next-generation leaders, and improve operational efficiency through IT, thereby creating an environment in which all Group employees can thrive.
To strengthen highly effective governance systems, we will further reinforce the separation of supervision and execution to ensure management transparency and fairness, thereby building a robust corporate governance framework that provides a foundation for prompt decision‑making. We will also disclose appropriate information to stakeholders.
Our Group will advance initiatives on material issues to pursue medium- to long-term growth and contribute to the realization of a sustainable global society.
